Burlenberg 2015 "Burning Hill"

Burlenberg 2015 "Burning Hill"

Terroir of Silicified Vlcanic Crinoidal limestone

More details

The royal Pinot Noir whose kingdom is Burgundy, finds in Alsace some ancestral links. Usually grown at the foot of the hills at a reasonably high output, this varietals produces a rosé wine, a fine, thoroughbred, pleasant and original wine. When grown on limestone soils of thin texture (Burlenberg), this wine becomes sublime, with a rich fragrance of red berries (redcurrents, blackberries, blackcurrents) and delicate tannins : a remarkable wine for presenting with red meats.

Great red wine with a ruby robe. The nose has a rare fruity violence (black raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, nutmeg and smoke), which bounces off the very spicy taste of the burnt tannins that are so characteristic of Burlenberg. With its volcanic temperament, this wine will surprise the taster by its almost puerile affirmation of originality. We have done our best to protect that strangeness, that very special way in which Burlenberg states its difference, with burning and blood, which are signs of its close contact with Jurassic limestone and Quaternary lava. Must be decanted before serving. For all red meat.
