This wine comes from our Engelgarten vineyard, in the magnificent Graves area situated just a « cannon shot » away from the Bergheim medieval fortress. The soil in this area, with its gravelly structure, and its marked dryness in September, makes it possible to harvest beautifully ripened Riesling grapes as soon as the vine has weakened and its energy limited. This is why the character of the Engelgarten area predominates over the wine’s varietal character.

Great tight white wine, rich and mineral with an ample and brilliant robe, aromas of pear and cooked orange peel, enveloped in intense minerality. Like all Graves, Engelgarten has the characteristic warm taste, the suave notes of ripe white fruit and a final note with a mineral rigour that draws out into a well-constructed and taut length. Like all white Graves, this wine is very easy to serve.
